From Concept to Construction: Reshaping Hong Kong’s Skyline with AI

AI-driven, open-source Digital Twin of Hong Kong
On 26 September 2025, HKBNES and the Hong Kong Computer Society co-hosted the HKCS Construction Tech Seminar, focusing on practical AI applications in Hong Kong’s urban development, Digital Twin technology, and industry readiness for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (Computer Systems) Ordinance taking effect in January 2026.
Kenneth Sung, Managing Director of Jadason Technology / Metason, was among the featured speakers. He showcased how NVIDIA Omniverse, as a Digital Twin platform, supports innovation in urban development and city management, including:
- Dynamic Digital Twin of Hong Kong: An AI-driven, open-source city-scale digital twin built from 900+ CSDI datasets
- AI agents: Integrating AI agents with the city-scale dynamic digital twin for natural language interaction
- Gaussian Splatting & AI: Applications for surveys, city management, and construction with realistic rendering
Fellow speakers included M.H. Kwan (Lidaris Ltd.) on AI conversion of LiDAR/point clouds into BIM, and Jackal Chau (HKBNES) on AI frameworks for construction workflows and critical-infrastructure cybersecurity compliance.
The seminar underscored how AI and Digital Twin technologies can reshape Hong Kong’s built environment — from concept through construction — while strengthening secure, future-ready city operations.
