Scientific Visualization of Large-Scale Time-Varying Data for Smart Cities
On Monday, 26 January 2026, Metason joined the SVSC Workshop co-located with SCA/HPCAsia 2026 in Osaka, Japan (13:30–16:30, Room 806). Workshop contributors included Barton Fiske, Simon See, and Akihiro Kishimoto.
The workshop addressed how scientific visualisation is being reshaped by exploding data volumes, exascale computing, and AI/ML — and how visualisation and digital twins can support real-time insights and decision-making in smart-city planning. It aimed to connect visualisation and digital twin experts, domain scientists, and technology developers to share best practices, tools, and real-world experience for large, complex urban datasets.
Kenneth Sung (Metason) delivered the invited talk “From CFD to Smart Visualization: Digital Twin Solutions for Urban Air Ventilation Analysis,” showing how digital twin workflows can turn computational fluid dynamics (CFD) into practical, city-scale visualisation for urban air ventilation studies.
